It primarily consists of various types of corrugated cardboard, including cardboard boxes, cartons, cardboard trimmings, and fruit packaging cartons. Here are the key specifications and characteristics of OCC #11:
- Material Type: A 100% corrugated carton material.
- Prohibitive Materials: Prohibitive materials, such as non-paper contaminants, are limited to a maximum of 1%.
- Total Outthrows: The combination of outthrows (unwanted materials) should not exceed 5%.
- European Standard: Conforms to European Standard EN 643 Code: 1.05, classified as “Ordinary Corrugated Board.” This category includes used boxes and sheets of corrugated board of various qualities and may contain up to 10% of other packaging papers and boards.
- Non-Paper Components: Non-paper components are restricted to a maximum of 1.5%.
- Moisture Content: Moisture content should not exceed 12%, with all papers stored in air-dry, indoor warehouses.
- Packing: OCC #11 is typically packed in bales, each weighing between 20-23 metric tons per 40HQ container.
